Hat Day!

Friday, February 27 is hat day.  Students can bring 50 cents to wear a hat.  The money raised will help student council with a community service project.

Sweet First Graders

We had such a blast at our Valentine's Day Party! Here are some shots from our desk arrangement and our candy heart minute-to-win-it games! I wish I would have taken a picture of our food table! Thank you for all of the healthy donations. The kids and I had a blast!

Unwaxed Museum!

We had a fun-filled learning experience with our 6th grade buddies. They worked hard this past month to put on the annual Unwaxed Museum. The kiddos loved it!

Valentine's Day/Short Week!

The students will be dismissed at noon on Thursday, February 12.  There is no school on Friday, February 13 or Monday, February 16.

We will be having our Valentine's Day party on Thursday, February 12.  If you are able to send a healthy snack for the class please let me know. Don't forget to send your child's Valentines cards before Thursday!

So far we have 2 parents bringing a few plates of healthy snacks, napkins, forks, plates and juice boxes.  We'll also eat one of our Valentine bag treats (as to not over-sugar the students ; ) We still have room for some snackies!

We will not be having reading groups or a spelling test this week.  We will be working on some close reads about Valentine's Day and dental health.

In math, we will continue to work on writing numbers 100-120.  We will also begin 10 more and 10 less of a number.

Valentines Day!

We will be having a Valentine’s Day party on Thursday, February 12^th.  The kids will exchange Valentine cards and have some fun.  Please make sure your child has a card for every student in the class.  I encourage you to have your child address the cards. You may bring the Valentine cards any time between February 9th and the 12^th.

Since our Valentines party is on a half day and the kids are generally starving, I would love for our class to have some healthy snacks  (cheese and crackers, veggie and fruit tray, juice boxes, etc.) as part of our party.  Please email me if you would like to contribute.  We will also need paper plates and napkins.  Please, please, please do not bring any extra sweets like cupcakes or cookies!
